Forums and training
Forums
DSD runs forums to assist security practitioners, system administrators and other technical personnel from both government agencies and organisations that are part of the national information infrastructure. The aims of the forums are to communicate and share the latest technical, policy and administrative issues with security practitioners and discuss remedial strategies and solutions. A variety of forums are held throughout the year with the target audience varying from only government personnel to government personnel, contractors and particular commercial organisations that are part of the national information infrastructure. To request inclusion on the mailing list notifying of future forums please see Contact DSD
Vulnerability Demonstrations
DSD can deliver a dynamic presentation to your organisation that highlights the real life threats to, and vulnerabilities of, IT systems. A vulnerability demonstration, utilising a small portable stand-alone network, can be customised to cater for audiences ranging from novice users to those with an advanced technical understanding. The demonstration will show the ease with which attacks can take place and the consequences of not securing systems. To request a vulnerability demonstration see Contact DSD.
Training
The Introduction to IT Security course that was provided by DSD and the Attorney Generals Department's Protective Security Coordination Centre (PSCC) is no longer available. When details on a new Information Security course have been finalised they will be available from this webpage.
