Who are we looking for?

DSD is an organisation unlike any other…

A few years ago we wouldn’t have been able to tell you very much about what we actually do, unlike other organisations who could give you detailed information. Now we can tell you a little bit more.

It is no secret that we are a key Australian intelligence agency. Our aim is to provide customers with timely, responsive and comprehensive intelligence, analysis and advice.

Intrigued? You will be.
Informed? Not as much as you’d probably like to be.

But there’s one way you’ll find out more about the unique work we do at DSD..and that is to come and work here.

In a constantly changing and uncertain world, DSD provides a unique service of vital national importance. We make a difference. Without the full picture, the Government cannot make informed and timely decisions. Filling in that picture is what we are here to do.

The DSD is part of the Australian Public Service and is a Canberra based organisation. Employment with DSD is subject to satisfying the requirements of an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) and a Top Secret (Positive Vet) security clearance. All applicants must be Australian Citizens and must be able to account for their personal background for the past 10 years. You will be employed in the Austalian Public Service for a probationary period of 6 months.
