Budget Manager

We are looking for someone who has strong financial and business experience and who is interested in establishing effective financial systems. You will be involved in a range of activites including; managing complex procurement activities; and providing expert finance and business advice across projects. You will need to be enthusiastic, a great team player and up for an exciting challenge. You'll also have to manage complex tasks and juggle priorities and have an interest in broadening your understanding of DSD's strategic and business context.

We're looking for someone with a range of talents, who:

Duty Statement:

  1. Co-ordinate the Resource Management activities.
  2. Provide advice to senior staff on purchasing, salary and staffing issues.
  3. Monitor, review and analyse financial progress against contractual and associated project forecasts.
  4. Demonstrated experience in the use of financial management systems and common computer applications including MS Excel spreadsheets and a good understanding of domestic travel procedures, including entitlements and payment of allowances.
  5. Assist staff as required, eg. Travel processing, correspondence.

Eligibility/other requirements:

Employment with DSD is subject to satisfying the requirements of an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) and a TOP SECRET (Positive Vet) security clearance. All applicants must be Australian Citizens and must be able to account for their personal background for the past 10 years.
