Analyst Pathway

Analyst stream The Analyst pathway consists of three work placements and a series of courses over a period of twelve months. These placements and courses are designed to provide exposure and experience in a variety of work areas across the organisation as to ensure you gain a thorough perspective of organisational capability, goals and objectives.

You will receive comprehensive, specialised training to develop the technical capabilities that allow you to work in multi-disciplinary teams to solve problems that others cannot solve. You will undertake sophisticated analysis, producing vital intelligence and security information for the Australian Government.

During the rotation year, you may be involved in:

Analysis of foreign signals intelligence
Preparation of short term or long term information reports to government
Analysis of communication systems
Translating foreign language material, or
Solving cryptological problems using advanced mathematical concepts

DSD is seeking graduates, final year students and experienced professionals with strong academic records in a diverse range of disciplines, including – but not limited to;

Arts and Science disciplines with strong analytic and/or research component
Maths, statistics or physics graduates
Degrees with an international or language focus

Employment Specifications:

Salary Commences at $53,622 depending upon qualifications and / or experience.
