Technical careers
The Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) has an almost insatiable demand for technical specialists to keep our unique systems on the leading edge. Your work will directly support the Australian Defence Force and Australian Government.
Technology supports all our work and we need a broad range of hardware and software specialists to develop, build and maintain everything from simple electronics to high-end supercomputers and from scripts to systems. You may have expertise in:
- software design, development or support
- system engineering
- digital programmable logic
- computer and information security
- database design and administration
- network or system administration
- project management.
You will receive training in using our specialised systems and often have a role in developing those systems into the future. You will enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams. You may have opportunities to travel. You will be encouraged to develop and redevelop your skills to keep pace with evolving priorities.
Technical specialists may join DSD as graduates or apply directly for positions advertised on the Defence Intelligence and Security Group Careers website.
We have also been taking on apprentices and cadets through the Australian Government ICT Entry Level Program since July 2012.
