Duty statement

Under supervision as to the method of approach and requirements, undertake the following:

  • Perform engineering work requiring individual judgement and initiative in the application of engineering techniques and methods
  • Participate in the preparation of standards, briefs, procedures and designs for systems and equipment.
  • Participate in engineering studies and evaluation of systems and equipment designs and novel concepts.
  • Undertake programming and / or elements of systems analysis design.
  • Install and configure computer systems and networks and provide specialist technical advice.
  • Monitor performance, investigate and remedy failures in computer and software systems and networks.
  • Analyse, develop and implement ICT security measures.
  • Participate in the management and development of ICT systems.

Mandatory

  • Employment with DSD is subject to satisfying the requirements of a Psychological Assessment and a Top Secret - Positive Vet security clearance. All applicants must be Australian citizens and must have at least 10 years checkable background.
  • A degree from an Australian tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas qualification, which, in the opinion of the Secretary, is appropriate to the duties.
